    thanks for your reply ,do you know the chip number / location for this?

    the above file came from a mx25l25673gz41 the other flash chip i can see is a windbond 25q128jv i think

    thank you for that information.
    i will post that file tomorrow as its on my other laptop at work.
    is the 32mb file in 1st post for the flash chip on the other side of the board the mxic mx25l25673g ?
    i flashed the 32mb file to this chip and the 16mb file to the chip in your photo but only get the caps lock light on? i did back them up 1st of course.

    should i reflash my original 32meg file back to the mx25l25673g and flash your modded 16meg to the w25q128jv ?
